Light Blowing

Events, 06/09/2018

Purho will be among the protagonists of The Venice Glass Week 2018 – the international festival devoted to the art of glass scheduled in Venice from September 9th to 16th 2018 – with the new project Magus designed by Filippo Ferodi and realised in collaboration with Colleoni Arte that will be presented at Light Blowing, the format born under the creative direction of Ilaria Ruggiero and Samantha Punis devoted to the best lighting design in blown glass, awaited at Fondaco Marcello in the very heart of Venice.

Magus, designed by Filippo Ferodi and realised in collaboration with Colleoni Arte, is a light installation made up of twenty-five blown glass spheres in amber-coloured Murano glass each of 18 cm diameter, gathered in concentric circles and fixed to a supporting structure. Supported by long cables covered with velvets, silks, linens in a palette of colours from the green of the undergrowth to warm shades of orange and red, Magus chooses the path of contamination between glass and fabric, making this the strong point of the entire project, just as with Normanna, the table or floor lamp designed by VI + M in which colourful Tripolino fringes embrace coloured semi-frosted blown glass spheres.
